Senior Category Buyer

Currently, we are positioned as a top-ranked innovative player in the supply of added-value ingredients for the food and beverage industry, focusing on fruit preparations, plant-based dairy alternatives, liquid flavors, and other specialty ingredients.
We are a team of almost 900 people in full growth with factories located in Europe (Portugal, France, Germany and Switzerland), North America (Canada and USA) and Africa (Morocco and South Africa).
We are looking for a Senior Category Buyer to join our global Procurement team in Maia.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Manage the assigned procurement categories and contribute to developing its strategy;
- Continuous sourcing of Suppliers, Goods and Services for its procurement categories;
- Identify and propose new suppliers (build a supplier portfolio);
- Develop a strong market knowledge, launch RFIs and RFQs, negotiate long-term agreements based on Total Cost of Ownership;
- Build strong and effective relationships with suppliers to deliver preferred service with best value and monitor supplier performance;
- Prepare the budget, monitor prices, and index market prices;
- Follow up procurement KPIs.
PROFILE
- Bachelor’s degree in Management, Economics, Engineering (or similar);
- Minimum of 5 years of professional experience in similar roles;
- Experience in purchasing fruits and/or ingredients;
- Experience in the food industry (preferred);
- Advanced negotiation expertise;
- Good analytical skills;
- Advanced technical knowledge of SAP (preferred);
- Advanced technical knowledge of MS Office tools;
- Good command of English (spoken and written);
- Proactivity, team spirit, and a results-oriented mindset.
