Head of Health, Safety & Environment

We are looking for an experienced Head of Health, Safety & Environment to lead H&S&E strategy and performance across our global manufacturing footprint.

Nexture Group is a €1.2 billion revenue company with manufacturing operations across Europe, Africa and the Americas. This role sits at Group level and is based in Portugal this is a senior, hands-on leadership role for someone who can drive a strong safety culture, ensure environmental compliance, and embed best-in-class systems across all sites worldwide.

Must-Have Experience

• DuPont Safety System: proven experience designing, implementing or running a DuPont-based safety management system.
• Environmental Management — Scope 1 & 2: hands-on experience measuring, reporting and reducing direct and energy-related indirect (Scope 1 and Scope 2) greenhouse gas emissions.
• Raw Material Commodities: working knowledge of raw material commodity markets, with strong grounding in European markets specifically, and their associated environmental supply-chain risk considerations.
• Minimum 5 Years in an H&S&E Head / Leadership Role: proven track record specifically as Head of H&S&E (or equivalent senior leadership title)

Key Responsibilities

• Define and roll out the H&S&E strategy across all manufacturing sites, aligned with Group strategy.
• Lead implementation and continuous improvement of the DuPont safety culture framework, including behavioral safety observations and leadership engagement.
• Own the Scope 1 and Scope 2 environmental data reporting, target-setting and reduction roadmap.
• Ensure full compliance with local, national, EU and other applicable international health, safety and environmental regulations across all regions of operation.
• Partner with Procurement and Operations on H&S&E risk related to raw material commodities sourced globally, with particular depth in Europe.
• Standardize H&S&E policies, procedures and KPIs across all sites globally; drive audits, incident investigation and root-cause analysis.
• Coach and develop site H&S&E teams and build a strong, visible safety leadership culture.
• Report H&S&E performance and improvement plans to senior leadership and relevant stakeholders.

What We're Looking For

• 10+ years of overall experience in H&S&E roles within manufacturing / industrial / food or FMCG environments, including at least 5 years specifically in an H&S&E Head or senior leadership capacity.
• Demonstrated success embedding the DuPont safety system or a comparable behavior-based safety programme.
• Strong technical grasp of GHG accounting (Scope 1 & 2) and environmental compliance frameworks, in Europe and other global regions.
• Familiarity with global raw material commodity supply chains and their risk profile, with particular expertise in European markets.
• Fluent English; Portuguese and additional languages are a plus.
• Willingness to travel regularly and internationally across the Group's global sites.
• Strong leadership, influencing and change-management skills.
